Read through before installing. The trigger antenna is very sensitive, think of it as the cantilever of a cartridge. The mechanics inside might not function properly if the antenna is bent out of shape. That said, it will survive the accidental bump, but handle it with care.

The turntable motor should be powered off until mounting is completed.

SET HEIGHT

Height is adjusted by a set screw in the base using the enclosed 0.9mm hex key.

Do not attach mounting disc at this stage.

Leave the tonearm in its resting position.

Put a 12” vinyl record on the platter.

Place Little Fwend on a surface between the base of the tonearm and the platters edge.

Lower the stylus down into the groove. Precise positioning of the stylus or Little Fwend is not important at this point.

Start with the Little Fwend at its lowest setting.

Gently push the rubber beam down to its loaded position and place the fwend under the tonearm.

Adjust the height so you end up with approx. 1-2mm clearance between the rubber beam and the underside of the tonearm.

INSTALL
MOUNTING DISC

Keep protective cover on adhesive surface until final placement is determined.

In its up-position, swing the tonearm inwards until the stylus hovers over the middle of the run-out area.

The adhesive on the metal mounting disc is pretty strong, so make sure you adhere it to the right position.

The enclosed restickable dot is a non-glue alternative you can use under the metal disc, but it´s a bit more fiddly to work with. We recommend the metal disc only, but it´s up to you.

Looking straight from above, take a mental note of where to place the mounting disc. Adhere it approx. centered straight under the tonearm, halfway between the platters edge and the tonearm base.

Remove the protective cover from adhesive side(s) and adhere the disc to the plinth.

POSITIONING
LITTLE FWEND

It is not an exact science, but as a general rule, the release mechanism works the smoothest if the release antenna runs approx. parallel to the tonearm at the point of contact for triggering.

Place tonearm in resting position.

Place Little Fwend on the mounting disc.

Rotate Little Fwend so the trigger antenna points towards the back of the turntable (towards 12 o´clock).

Gently push rubber beam down to the loaded position.

Swing the tonearm in so the stylus hovers over the point you want the lifting mechanism to trigger.

Rotate Little Fwend counter-clockwise until antenna barely touches the tonearm.

Little Fwend is now ready for duty and will safely lift the tonearm when you are not.

REMEMBER TO RESET LITTLE FWEND BEFORE PLAYING THE NEXT RECORD.

Typically you will forget the first couple of times and you will be reminded by the sound of skipping around track two on the record. This will soon become second nature, I usually just reset it as soon as the tonearm is moved back into its resting position.
